2 months and random pictures

Wow time is flying. Elijah is two months old and has already been on his first vacation. I know when Jacob was little I thought that he grew too fast too, but I feel like Elijah is growing even faster than Jakers. It could be that I have more on my plate then I did with Jacob. I have two to run after and care for instead of just one, and when I say run I mean run. Jacob has so much energy- it is amazing when he finally slows down.At Elijah's two month appointment he was 25 inches long (95%) weighed 12 lbs 14 oz (75%) and his head circumference was 15.5 inches (30%). If I recall correctly that is very similar to the growth pattern that Jacob had- but Jacob's stuff is in storage. I can't wait till we have all our stuff in our own house. Elijah is so much fun now. He loves to smile, and coo. He sucks on everything and drools constantly. He loves his big brother and his big brother loves him. Almost every morning Jacob doesn't want to do anything until he has held Elijah for even a moment. However, Elijah is definitely a Momma's boy right now. Even leaving him with a babysitter for a little while (grandma, grandpa, or even Daddy) is troublesome for the babysitter. He usually calms right down for Momma. He recognizes my voice in the room. Makes me feel good, but also a little bit overwhelmed with feeling tied down. It makes it hard to get away and to do something special with just Jakers and I. Pretty soon though, Elijah will have to get use to it as I head back to work. I am sure it will be an adjustment for all of us.

For Valentines day, The boys got these shirts. I have attempted to take pictures before but they didn't cooperate, then they decided to one day but then Jacob just woke from his nap and has bed head and morning face. Oh well, Aren't they the cutest in their matching brother shirts. :)

Both Boys love to be read too. It is funny, Jacob will continue to keep bringing me books. I love that they love to read like their daddy.
I will post vacation pictures in another blog post if I ever get a chance- You know I lag a little behind.

lagging behind

So Big Shocker--- I am not up to date on my blog. I thought though I would post our going to be monthly pictures of Elijah. I have his 1 week old and is already 1 month old pictures. Since most of our stuff is in storage I didn't know what to compare Elijah too, Jacob had a bear that is in storage. So Elijah just got a small giraffe, but I am sure in the long run we will be able to see how much he changes in a year. Isn't he so precious?
He didn't really want to participate in the one month photo shoot, but I took the pictures anyways and thought that I would get to redue1 month pictures later, but that hasn't happened yet, and he is almost 2 months old now.

He's Here!!!

Elijah Joseph Watts has arrived. He came January 21,2010 after a long day at 2:50. I was beginning to think this day would never come, but Mom reassured me there has never been someone who has been pregnant the rest of their lives. With Jacob I don't ever remember getting to this uncomfortable big stage, but I am sure part of that is because I was much sicker. Elijah I was sick with the entire time, but not like I was with Jacob thankfully. Instead, I got to be uncomfortable, couldn't sleep, etc, but it is all worth it as I am holding this precious little one. You forget how tiny they are, yet they seem so big to have been inside you.

Jacob adores his little brother. Dad was able to bring him up to me right after I delivered, I was still in the hospital bed and was still being monitored (just because they hadn't taken that off yet). Jacob was a little scared to come see me because of the monitors and would wave and say I want you mommy, but wouldn't come near me, but When Michael who was holding Elijah asked if Jacob wanted to come see him, Jacob ran across the room and asked if he could hold him. He is such a great big brother. He just like his parents immediately fell in love. Thankfully, Jacob warmed up and came to see me, but still wouldn't sit on the side of my Saline Lock (IV) until they pulled it out.

It was a little scary when Elijah was first born. He got stuck in the middle of a contraction coming out into the world (not to mention his feet came out with his ears), and didn't cry for the longest time. Then finally he let out a little squeak, but continued to not make any other noise. Dr Sharp was fantastic. She kept suctioning him and rubbing him, but I knew as they prepared for him to be laid on my chest that something was wrong when Dr Sharp said no, prepare the warmer instead. She then quickly cut the cord, ran over to the warmer and ambued (bagged)and suctioned him a couple times and finally I was able to hear the beautiful cry. Dr Sharp apologized to Michael and I that he didn't get to cut the cord and I didn't get to hold him right away, but That is silly- I am glad she was able to intervene and we are able to have a healthy little baby without any major complications.

Family Christmas's in a wrap

We had a great time at our Family Christmas's this year. While we don't have a lot of pictures. Pregnant Tara isn't in the picture mood and Michael isn't as good at taking photos, here are a few. We really enjoy our family and are blessed to have each of them apart of our lives. Grandma Allens was a blast on Christmas day- as always there is great food and wonderful fellowship. Jacob got a robot from great grandma and loves it. This boys is so spoiled and he is all boy, robots, cars, guns (or shooting things as he says) are all things he thoroughly enjoys.
We had a great time at Grandma Sherck's Christmas at the Church. It is getting to be a large crowd, but still fun to get together. It is also nice that there are multiple kids Jaker's age for him to play with and run around. Uncle B was Santa, and Jacob spoted that right away. It was a hoot.

Lehman Christmas was not the same without Grandma and Grandpa Lehman who are suffering the winter in Florida, but we got to visit with my cousin Amy who was up from California. Baby Watts even got a few items.
The Sherck Christmas was as crazy as ever with all the siblings and their significant others home. Dad made us all incredible desks. Homemade gifts are the best, especially because we know he poured hour and hours of love into them.

Spoiled Roten

Santa was good to Jacob, and to the rest of us too, but Boy is Jacob spoiled roten. I guess this is his last Christmas being the only child, he must take it for what it is worth. He was so excited to see Santa brought him a new bike. Although being winter it is kinda hard to ride. He has been enjoying it in the basement and since I am writing this after Christmas- I have even taken him to the church a few times to allow him to ride it in the gym while I walk- hoping to get his little brother out. :) He loves it. He zooms everywhere.stocking fun- don't you love that hair

One of the things he kept asking for was a punching bag. So he got it. It was actually one of the cheaper toys- but he loves it just as much.

The other was asking for cars. I think Daddy was just as excited that he was getting this set as he was. It was the first toy daddy wanted to Put together. I must say when shopping for toys this year, I do not look forward to buying boy toys in the future. They just don't interest me, however girls toys are much more exciting and my dear neices may get spoiled by their Aunt Tara who won't have any of her own Girls to buy for.

Christmas Eve fun

Christmas Eve this year was extra special. We were able to go to go Grandma and Grandpa Evans (Michaels parents) and spend time with Natalie, Amanda, and Jason. Amanda (Michael's sister) and Jason are in the Air Force and don't get to come home very often so we have only met Natalie a few times. It was so much fun spending time with family. Jacob and Natalie really hit it off and loved playing together so much they called each other brother and sister. We kept trying to correct them and say he/She is your cousin, but they continued to say Brother/sister. It was so cute. Then on Christmas when we headed to Grandma Allens, Jacob wanted to make sure his sister Natalie would be there. Jacob and Natalie opening gifts- They got spoiled by Aunt Brittainy, but also by Amanda and Jason and grandma and grandpa

Natalie opening her guitar from Grandma

Jacob opening his work bench from Grandma
It was such a hit, even though returning to home was after bedtime, Jacob insisited it would be put together .

More gifts
And the next morning we found Jacob playing with this, even though He had a ton of gift from santa. He loved it He kept making "Presents" for us. Kinda like Grandpa Sherck does. He worked at his work bench for hours.

Not impressed I am interupting to take a picture
