David Rogers Day

So When I was little, My mom took me to every festival there was around. Now that I am a mom I seem to want to do the same for Jacob.
This past weekend, there was a little festival at one of the parks in LaGrange. So after carpet shopping, My mom and I took Jacob to the David Roger's Day festival at David Roger's park. I believe it is named after the guy who lived in these houses way back in the 1800's.
The festival was little but it was still fun. Jacob enjoyed it, but would enjoy it more if he were a little older. They had all kinds of things for little kids for FREE! Like making candles, carving wood, making metal signs, weaving baskets, making pottery, watching puppet shows, and we even got to enjoy a little bit of the flea circus show.

Jacob showed a lot of interest in running around and climbing in all the old cabins. A tid bit of info. LaGrange Parks department has filled this park with all kinds of old houses they have found all over and have moved them to this one location.
And of course no festival would be complete without some yummy food. It was a good thing Daddy was out of town on a men's trip camping and kayaking because he is not a big festival fan. I was glad my mom was willing to come with me, It wasn't like I had to force her or anything.
A funny little story about Jacob. The Olympics were on at our house continuously and Jacob picked up a few tricks. He has now started to crouch down and touch his toes then say "Mark, get set, go" and takes off running. He is his father's son for sure. People are going to think Michael taught him that, but no the TV did.

With our new jobs we have found more freedom in the evenings. Lately, we have been enjoying bicycle rides. They are a lot different than the rides we took in the city. While these are more scenic and you don't have to worry about as many cars as you ride around country rodes instead of sub divisions the smell is much better in the city where you don't have to doge 'road apples' (for you city folk that is manure) and less strenuous as most subdivisions don't have hills like these country roads.

Goodbye PMCH

So it was a sad day last Tuesday Morning.I worked my last day at Peyton Manning Children's hospital. I truly loved my job and my coworkers

These aren't all my wonderful coworkers, but they were the only ones on my floor the last night I worked. My last night they were really great to me and threw me a pitch in with a bunch of yummy food.

These girls have taught me so much and made me the nurse I am today. I learned a lot in school but I didn't truly learn how to be a nurse and didn't become one till I worked at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital.

I am enjoying my new job as the head school nurse at East Noble, but I am very overwhelmed. It is a totally different type of job and way more paperwork. I feel very comfortable clinically with my experience but still feel very lost. I know it can only get better.

Michael is really enjoying his job. He is doing different stuff each day as he learns his job. I think he thinks it is keeping it exciting and new. And did I mention he really enjoys his new work phone.

Jacob is doing very well. He has been a grandpa's boy lately. He will be lost when Grandpa goes back to school. He is enjoying tractor rides, playing in the pool and outside, and just helping grandpa work. I feel like he is talking so much more, sometimes it is hard to distinguish what he is saying but when you realize it then you start to understand and say... That sounded like...

New Jobs

Just thought I would give you a little update on how the move is going with the Watts family. Jacob is starting to enjoy Grandma and Grandpas house, besides the spoiling, he loves the outdoors. He loved the outdoors before but at Grandma and Grandpas they have a lot more land to run around in and things to climb on, so he really LOVES the outdoors. Michael said he cried so much last night when he was bringing him indoors for bed. Jacob has also learned how to escape from Grandma and Grandpas. Grandma and Grandpa have door handles that he can reach and easily open. I guess we still need to work on baby proofing.
Jacob had his first day at the new babysitters Monday. From what I hear he had a good day and adjusted well. I think it helps that he gets to see all kinds of animals on their little farm. My mom picked him up and said he ate good, slept good, and played hard. My Aunt Bee also takes little Remmington to the same sitter and she said when she dropped Remi off Jacob ran to her and wanted her ( I think he was just excited to see someone familiar-being that so much is changing and wanted to leave with her).

As for me, I have worked my last days at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital. I will truly miss my time there, but look forward to my new adventure and getting to spend all my evenings, holidays and weekends with my family. I accepted a postion as the head nurse for East Noble School corporation. I will have 2 Elementary schools and a High school under me. With the school year rapidly approaching they wanted me to start Wednesday, making Monday night my last night in Indy.

Michael started his new job on Monday and said it went pretty well. From what I hear he really likes his new gadgets especially his phone.

Please continue to pray for us in this time of transition and that Michael and I won't kill each other with all this new time we now will have together.

Moving

So we packed up the house on Saturday evening. Sunday our stuff left for LaGrange and Monday after I woke up from working Sunday night, Jacob and I left our house in Avon for the last time to settle at my parents house in LaGrange. Michael followed us after his last day at Family Christian stores Tuesday. It was very sad to leave our house in Avon. We have so many memories there and loved our house, but we look forward to the adventures God has in store for us.
I have to tell you I wouldn't recommend packing and moving with a Toddler. While packing one morning, I found my son exploring.

Poor Jacob, Michael and I felt like the worst parents the last couple days. After Saturday night, you could tell he was a little lost. Where were his things? Sunday he was spending time with Michael and pointed at the cupboard. When Michael open the cupboard, He just shook his head and said No. Michael proceeded to do this a couple more times, till Jacob just broke down and started crying. Michael said he didn't know what to do, he didn't know how to calm him down. This is very rare for Jacob, he has his moments but really he is a happy kid.

We are glad we are at Grandma and Grandpas, he adjusted well. I think it help that he was familiar with their house and of course all the toys and spoiling.

Michael and I then spend the last few days unpacking. It was very hot. Jacob was being watched by his uncle Brian and Grandpa and decided that he would find his own way to cool off. This is what we saw.

Missing Terry

Last week was my last day with the only babysitter I really know. While, I have had others babysit me here and there. I have had Terry babysit me since I was 3 mths old. She has been a wonderful babysitter. I really enjoy going to her house. I will miss her and so will Mommy and Daddy. They knew I was in good hands with her. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. We wish we could move Terry with us. I love you Terry!

Zoo fun

So I am behind again. But I have been having fun with the zoo of boxes at my house. Not only do I get to enjoy my own little zoo, Mommy and Vicki took me to the real Indianapolis Zoo a week ago Wednesday. We had a picnic and a wonderful day looking at all the animals. I love these little adventures I got to enjoy. Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy.Well, not the best pictures, but we had to take it because a year ago we had this picture (you can look back at the history of this blog and see). This time it wasn't so easy. Vicki was trying to contain a little rascal that didn't want to hold still. Hmm, who could that be?

For some reason I really like this calf. I have seen cows before but I wanted to touch it and peer in at it. Could be that this calf pee'd for a really long long time.
We got to see the Koalas, they were visiting for the summer.

I enjoyed watching the elephant in the water. It was a hot day and I was hoping I might get sprayed. We didn't but we did find the splash park, which I loved. Mommy didn't intend on getting wet, but I made sure she did.

The Zoo was so much fun, at each animal I would go Ruff, ruff, like a dog. I guess I thought they all talked dog. I also particularly like walking across the bridge to see the Rhinos. I saw some kids jumping on it before me, so I felt I needed to do the same, over and over again.

Swim Baby

So I am a little behind, but there is a lot going on at our house lately.
Ever since Mommy took me to Plainfield water park I have wanted to go back and take some friends. So Tuesday, Mommy and I took Mommy's friend Vicki and my babysitter's kids, Brianna and TJ. We had a blast. Since it was overcast there weren't too many people there and we had free reign. Here are a few pictures from our day.
