Memorial Weekend

We just got back from a fun couple days. Mommy and Daddy took me along with uncle Matt up to Grandma and Grandpa Sherck's house on Saturday. It was beautiful. We got up there Saturday evening. Grandpa was mowing the lawn, so I got to have a little tractor ride, and it was such a nice evening we played a little outside. Mommy and daddy even let me stay up a little past my bedtime. The next day after church, we played games at Grandma and Grandpas with my uncles. Mommy and daddy thought I would stay inside with my grandparents and play, but I didn't want to. I wanted to be with the big boys. Mommy said she would not play golf and watch me, but I wanted to follow the boys. I walked all over the yard and fields with them as they played Frisbee golf, and real golf (well sorta- they hit objects instead of holes). I was really stinky when I was done, and took a nap before we had our Big Sherck Memorial day gathering.

I was telling grandpa how to do it, so he would get it done faster and come in and play with me before I had to go to bed.

My Mom's grandpa died before Mommy even met daddy. Because of that all his Kids and Grandchildren thought it would be fun to get together on Memorial Day (He was in the military) and celebrate his life and legacy. We had lots of yummy food, played many games, and they told us younger ones stories about Great Grandpa Sherck. He seemed like a really cool guy. He valued family so much. He would have really been happy at our gathering. I guess that trait has been passed to his children and grandchildren as I am always told about how much family means to each of them.

Missing is CJ and Andrea Mills and their son Asher (because he decided to make his appearance into the world a couple months early-He is down in South Carolina in the NICU). I think he was just trying to get out early enough for our gathering. Please keep them in your prayers. I was very glad though that Jayden, their other daughter, was able to come with her grandparents. She is so much fun to play with.

One thing I learned was that Great Grandpa Sherck use to collect old cars. My grandpa has one of them, and well I got to drive it around Grandpas property, with a little help. Styli'n hun?

I had a great weekend. It was so much fun to see all the Sherck family and play with all my cousins. I was so stinky. That is when you know you've played hard. Mommy and Daddy thought I would sleep on the 3 1/2 hr drive home, but not I . I only slept the last 45 mins of the trip. Yes, it was way past my bedtime.
It is okay I took good naps on Memorial day.
